Dr. Kristin Rose
Dr. Rose is a licensed psychologist in the State of Texas who enjoys working with children, adolescents, and young adults. She has received extensive training and ample experience working with a broad range of issues. In her 12+ years of experience, Dr. Rose has developed areas of expertise or specialization in working with anxiety and depressive issues, child and adolescent behavioral struggles, relationship or attachment concerns, trauma, and emerging personality. In addition, Dr. Rose has specific training in treating body focused repetitive behaviors (trichotillomania, skin picking, etc.). Dr. Rose enjoys providing family therapy and views children and adolescents as part of a larger family system that has a unique way of relating and interacting with one another. In addition to therapy, Dr. Rose provides testing services (neuropsychological, psychological, psychoeducational, cognitive only, etc.).
Dr. Rose is aware that therapy is not a “one size fits all” approach. Each individual brings their own specific strengths and weaknesses. She believes therapy is a collaborative process, with the therapist bridging their expertise of the field with the wisdom and knowledge of the individual. Dr. Rose strives to create a safe environment for individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings in a meaningful way. This often leads to changes in how individuals perceive themselves, behave, and relate to others. Dr. Rose can connect and adjust to individual needs through different theoretical orientations and modalities (Cognitive Behavior Theory, Dialectical Behavior Theory, attachment, interpersonal theory).
Dr. Rose graduated from Spalding University with a Psy.D. in clinical psychology. Prior to earning her doctorate degree, she attended the University of Louisville for a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and Texas A&M University for a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Dr. Rose completed an APA approved pre-doctoral internship at John L. Gildner Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents, a residential treatment facility, in Rockville, Maryland. She has been licensed in the state of Texas since 2010.
